TOP 5 LOCATIONS TO ELOPE IN THE FRASER VALLEY

Picture this: you, your partner, and a few of your closest people celebrating your love amidst the most breathtaking scenery. Eloping in the Fraser Valley has always been a top choice when it comes to beautiful locations! If you're looking for the perfect place to say 'I do' without all the fuss, look no further. We've rounded up the top 5 elopement locations in the Fraser Valley that will leave you and your partner swooning.

Before we dive in, I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge that all of these places are on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Stó:lō Coast Salish Peoples and it is an honour to host such sacred and beautiful moments on this land.

1. Chilliwack Lake

There are so many things about Chilliwack Lake that make it such a great spot to tie the knot. The first thing is its sheer beauty. A great lake surrounded by the most epic mountains, all in the middle of the BC wilderness. It doesn’t get much better than that!! It’s also very accessible! Depending on when you go, you and your guests can park in the day-use parking area, or, if you want to make a weekend out of it, you can book one of their many campsites! If you’re keen on having a more private ceremony, you can also head past the paved road and follow the logging road to find many beautiful, quiet beaches!

2. Flood Falls

Just before Hope, BC, there is a little but beautiful, cascading waterfall that is just begging to host some intimate ceremonies! It is a short 10 minute, easy hike through the most beautiful fern-covered forest. When you approach the falls, you’ll be able to take it all in before finding a little spot to say your “I Do's”. These falls can be visited year round, but just be mindful that the waterfall changes throughout the year and can range from a raging force of nature in the Spring to a small trickle in the Summer.

3. Cheam Wetlands

The Cheam Wetlands doesn’t get enough credit. It is one of the most serene places to unplug and immerse yourself in nature here in Chilliwack and is very accessible. There is a little lookout right beside the parking lot that has amazing views of the incredible landscape! Think rolling hills and a quiet lake that’s rich with plants and wildlife! It is no doubt one of the Fraser Valley’s best locations.

4. Vedder River

The Vedder River has a plethora of amazing options for your intimate wedding. This place is best in the summer months when the river is low! There are a few wonderful beaches along the exposed riverbed that would be perfect for a small gathering! Because these spots are along the riverbed and off the wonderfully maintained rotary trail, I wouldn’t say this location is super accessible, but these beautiful beaches aren’t difficult to get to with suitable footwear (basically anything but heels) and an adventurous spirit.

5. Mt. Woodside

If you’re looking for the most epic, unforgettable, jaw dropping location to get married, this is it. You get the dreamiest, unrestricted view of the Fraser River winding its way around the hills and through the valley. It is primarily used as a paragliding launchpad, but is often used as a beautiful viewpoint (because duh). The only caveat is that you do need an experienced driver and 4x4 vehicle to get to it. If this sounds like the spot for you but you don’t have access to a vehicle to get you up, we’ve got you covered with our adventurous elopement packages!
